Vanaheim is a Romanian software studio building custom applications and AI for businesses across Europe. Direct contact, working software, code you own.
Most software agencies optimise for headcount. They hire to fill billable hours, layer account managers between client and engineer, and ship slowly enough that the contract pays for itself. The work is fine. The model is the problem.
We started Vanaheim with one conviction: businesses get better software when they work directly with the engineers writing it. No account managers in the middle, no offshoring, no juniors learning on your project. A small team of senior people, paid to ship outcomes — not hours.
That keeps the studio small on purpose. We take fewer projects, deliver them faster, and stay involved long enough to see them work in production.
These are the operating principles we start every engagement from. They’re also the things we’d still believe if business-wise it would be easier not to.
You work directly with the people writing your code — eight years of average experience minimum, no juniors learning on your project, no account managers in the middle, no offshoring. The studio is small for this reason: we’d rather take fewer projects than hire a layer of intermediaries.
Vanaheim is a Romanian SRL, registered and operating inside the EU. Compliance is built in by default — data stays in regions you specify, DPAs and NDAs are signed before any project begins, and we never reuse client data for any other purpose.
We deploy on your accounts, on your infrastructure, in your repository. The code, the credentials, the documentation, the runbook — all yours, the moment we hand over. No vendor lock-in, no proprietary “platform” tax, no rent extraction.
Deployed to a real environment from week one and demoed every Friday. No multi-month black box, no status reports about “progress.” If something is going wrong, you see it in week one and we have time to fix it.
The studio is registered in Vâlcea county, in the heart of Romania. We work with clients across the EU, UK, and beyond, primarily in English.
